_ Creative challenges push you beyond the ordinary to become extraordinary. The variety of digital & physical projects I’ve been fortunate to lead and collaborate on has allowed me to explore new ideas and methods and see different perspectives and approaches…ever expanding my skills and tools.
_ Form follows function. There’s a million ways to build a box, but the best box is built based on it’s purpose. I champion efficiency and process, constantly finding better ways for workflow, collaboration and documentation.
_ Measure twice, cut once. It’s important to be thorough and meticulous. Prototype ideas. Review your work and your partners’ work too. Run the program back and forth multiple times to work the details out. Budgets, timelines, contracts, purchase orders and everything should be well documented, accurate, and communicated.
_ Clear communication is important in every relationship. Whether you’re at a major global brand like Nike with a matrix of partners across time zones, or a small and agile agency team – it’s important to drive alignment within a fast-paced environment to achieve business goals through clear and direct communication.
_ You have to earn respect, by giving respect. I strongly believe in the integrity of being a respectful and compassionate individual and not using ego, fear or intimidation to get the job done. Respect and understanding is more motivating and productive for everyone - for both internal and external partners.
_ Be the example of what you want reflected. To effectively direct and manage a team, set the standard and be the example.
